J. Edward ‘Ed’ Seratte
Services for J. Edward ‘Ed’ Seratte, 75, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Southern Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Seratte died Saturday, July 3, 2004, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 31, 1929, in Cane Hill, Ark., the son of Finnis E. and Margaret T. Galbraith Seratte.
He worked as a trucker for Airco Industrial Gases until his retirement in 1986. After retiring he worked as a bus driver for the Lawrence school district and for Raco Car Wash until 2002.
Mr. Seratte was a member of First Southern Baptist Church, where he served as a volunteer.
He married Eva L. Caywood on March 30, 1957, in Wichita. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Vicki Keling, McLouth; two sons, Steve E. and Scott W., both of Lawrence; a brother, Frank, Norman, Okla.; eight sisters, Velma Reece and Pauline Abraham, both of Springdale, Ark., Floye Hlad and Melba Hornecker, both of Wichita, Sharon Faulkner, Lawrence, Glenda Cowell, Wellington, Patricia Scharff, Watauga, Texas, and Peggy Wood, Benton, Ark.; eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday at Lawrence Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
The family suggests memorials to the church landscape fund, sent in care of the funeral chapel.
