Heavy snowfall to start overnight

Six to 10 inches.

That’s how much snow the Lawrence area is expected to get by Monday morning, Matt Jacobs, 6News meteorologist, said.

¢ Lawrence Community Theatre Sunday matinee. Rescheduled for 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7.

“It’s a very complicated weather situation,” Jacobs said. He expected to see two inches of snow fall overnight, with a low of 24.”

The deep stuff starts Sunday.

“We’ll see moderate to heavy snow during the day, until the evening hours, when we could see a sleet/freezing rain mix,” Jacobs said. “Then it will go all back over to snow by Monday morning.”

The amount of sleet and ice the area gets between the two snow events, will determine the total snow accumulation,” he said.

“It will vary anywhere from six to 10 inches,” he said.

Sunday’s high will be 28, with winds breezy and from the east, then shifting to the northwest and windy for Monday.
