Injury accident

A Lawrence woman was taken to the hospital after she ran a red light and collided with another car about 11:40 a.m. Wednesday at Ninth and Iowa streets. Dena R. Odom, 33, was driving a Hyundai south on Iowa Street when she struck a westbound Chevrolet driven by 44-year-old Alan B. Cox, Eudora. Police cited Odom for running a red light, according to a report, and she was transported by ambulance to Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Burglaries and thefts reported

  • A 39-year-old woman reported property including a safe, cell phone, wedding rings, a BB pistol and a butterfly knife stolen in a forced-entry burglary between 7:40 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 1700 block of Maple Lane. The burglar broke a rear door and stole roughly $2,000 worth of property.
  • A 21-year-old man reported a Toshiba laptop computer worth $1,000 stolen between 11:15 p.m. Wednesday and 10:30 a.m. Thursday from his home in the 1400 block of Eddingham Drive.
