Extradition waived in sports director killing

? A Kansas City man held in Detroit in the death of the director of the Jackson County Sports Complex Authority has waived extradition to Missouri, prosecutors said Monday.

Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies will go to the Wayne County Jail in Michigan to bring back Tyrone Tucker, 18.

Tucker was charged Friday with second-degree murder, armed criminal action and attempted robbery in the death of John M. Friedmann, 71.

Friedmann died Jan. 9, nearly two weeks after he was shot at a car wash in what police believe was an attempted carjacking. He never regained consciousness. Friedmann had been executive director of the authority, which oversees the operations of the stadiums where the Chiefs and Royals play, since 1990.

Bond for Tucker is $100,000 for the charges in the Friedmann case.
