Traffic near the Kansas Union may be limited this week as crews work to make energy improvements.

A crane will block parts or all of Jayhawk Boulevard as crews work to replace cooling towers on the north and south ends of the union. The replacement is part of a campuswide plan to improve energy efficiency.

Facilities Operations director Doug Riat said the work is scheduled to be completed by Friday but is progressing faster than anticipated and may be done earlier.
