The Lawrence Community Theatre sustained damages in a fire on Dec. 29 and volunteers are needed to assist with recovery. The fire destroyed costumes in the basement of the building and caused an estimated $15,000 worth of damage. Volunteers can help sort papers and theater supplies, clean props and costumes, and address other needs. Those willing to make food for working crews will also be appreciated. Volunteers can schedule a time to help during weekday business hours, and some Saturday shifts may be available.
