Douglas County Dental Clinic, 4920 W. 15th St., Health Care Access, 1920 Moodie Road, and Heartland Medical Clinic, 619 Vt., each received a $1,375 donation from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas.

The insurance provider made donations to 26 primary care and community health centers in the state.

  • Lawrence-based Paul Davis Restoration has donated $14,200 to the Midwest Regional Burn Foundation.

The funds were raised through sponsorships and donations for the 10th Annual Paul Davis Restoration Charity Golf Invitational. The foundation is not-for-profit volunteer organization that provides grants to conduct research in burn treatments and prevention.

  • Anita Meyer, a Douglas County day-care provider, has been awarded a Child Development Associate Credential by the Council for Professional Recognition.

The designation recognizes outstanding work with young children. Meyer is a member of Douglas County Child Development Assn. and Douglas County Family Day Care Assn. She has been a day-care provider in Douglas County for 26 years.

  • Dave Greenbaum of Doctor Dave, an area onsite computer consulting service, will sponsor a free seminar on buying and selling on eBay. The seminar will be at 2 p.m. today at Borders Books Music & Cafe, 700 N.H.
  • Thomas Howe, a Realtor with Lawrence’s Reece & Nichols/Acres Realtors, recently earned the e-Pro certification from e-Pro.

The certification trains real estate professionals on how to use Internet tools to help clients buy and sell homes.

  • ZLB Plasma Services in Lawrence has been re-certified as an International Quality Plasma Program by PPTA Source.

The designation signifies the center adheres to strict donor acceptance requirements, various testing procedures, and personnel training standards.

ZLB collects plasma that is manufactured into therapies to fight hemophilia, clotting disorders, and other immune deficiency disorders.

  • Financial services firm Edward Jones ranked fourth on Fortune magazine’s annual list of the 100 Best Companies to Work For. Edward Jones has five investment representatives in Lawrence.
