Dougan services

Services for Daisy C. Dougan, 98, Lawrence, will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Dougan died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004, at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor.

She was born Aug. 14, 1905, in St. Louis, the daughter of Edward C. and Cecile (Brechaud) Beguelin.

Mrs. Dougan worked at Weaver’s Department Store for six years and also worked for a seamstress. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, where she had been active in Bible studies and women’s mission work, and served as superintendent of the primary Sunday school department.

She married Elmer Lawrence Dougan on June 7, 1927, in Lawrence. He died Aug. 8, 1992.

Survivors include a son, Kenneth Dougan, Grand Prairie, Texas; a daughter, Kathleen Bates, Indianapolis; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a stepgreat-grandchild.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The family suggests memorials to the church or Good Samaritan Fund at Presbyterian Manor, sent in care of the funeral home.
