The Jayhawk 4-H Club met Jan. 15 at the Grant Community Center. The meeting was called to order by Dulce Shultz, president.

Club members discussed activities for the winter and spring. Members participated in County Club Days in individual events and as a club in the model meeting competition. Casey Davis and Kasandra Williams gave talks on the Citizen Washington Focus trip, which is scheduled for June.

  • The Lone Star 4-H Club met Feb. 9 at Wakarusa Valley School. It was Parent’s Night which means the officers’ parents conducted the meeting. Members answered roll call by naming their valentine. Michelle Jennings and Debbie Caffey led the club in singing a valentine song. The club recognized members who participated in County Club Days.

Members were reminded to inform the Extension office of their health insurance changes during the year. Members decided to have a club exchange with the Clinton Eagles 4-H Club this year. Adult and youth volunteers are needed to attend the exchange meeting and also to help with camp this summer. Debbie Fishburn and Becca Hinshaw gave presentations. The club sang “Happy Birthday” to members who celebrate February birthdays.

The next meeting will be March 8 at Wakarusa Valley School.
