Topeka ? The state has gotten out of the used-car business after having sold nearly 150 vehicles as part of a move to trim the state fleet.

The state sold 147 vehicles for $526,019. Buyers came from across the state, and even Florida and Virginia.

The sale to the general public started Feb. 5.

There are still 530 more vehicles remaining, but those will be sold at a series of auctions to dealers only, state officials said.
