Topeka ? Gov. Kathleen Sebelius’ administration today told state lawmakers it was her way or maybe no highway.

Kansas Transportation Secretary Deb Miller said if the Legislature doesn’t approve Sebelius’ plan to borrow $465 million in bonds for the comprehensive transportation plan, dozens of road projects could be jeopardized.

“We will be forced to start cutting projects,” Miller said.

One of those could be reconstructing an 11-mile segment of U.S. Highway 59 in Douglas County to four lanes. Under the state’s comprehensive transportation plan, the nearly $75 million project was scheduled to be contracted in 2007.
