George E. Wehmeier Jr.

Mr. Wehmeier died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, in Berwick.

He was born Feb. 10, 1931, in Waterville, the son of George E. and Thelma (Keefover) Wehmeier.

Mr. Wehmeier served for four years on a destroyer in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He worked for many years at IBM in Kansas City, State College, Pa., White Plains, N.Y., and Chicago. He retired from IBM in 1986 and later worked for the Internal Revenue Service.

He married Margaret Y. Howes on April 27, 1953, in Waterville. She died in 2000.

Survivors include two sons, Craig E., Bellefonte, Pa., and Brent A., Conyngham, Pa.; a brother, Steven C., Denver; three sisters, Linda E. McGrath, Lenexa, Donna M. Krische, Lawrence, and Marjorie A. Kenney, Wichita; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

The family suggests memorials to the charity of the donor’s choice.
