Valentine’s Day

No date? Don’t worry

As Valentine’s Day rolls around, there are always mixed feelings about what do. If you don’t have a sweetheart, can you still celebrate? Yes! Even though it’s typically a lovey-dovey romantic couples day, it doesn’t have to be only that. Here are some other ideas on how to spend the holiday:

  • Grab ready-made sugar cookies and cut them out in different heart shapes. Next comes the fun part: decorate! Frost them with pink, red and white frosting and add sprinkles. This is the perfect activity to do with friends.
  • Dress up in as many conventional Valentine’s Day colors as possible and walk around downtown handing out valentines to anyone who will take them.
  • Create spectacular valentines to donate to your local veterans, hospital, or nursing home to really make someone’s day special.
  • On Sunday, hit the stores for the markdowns on all of the cute Valentine’s Day stuff. Candy is especially good the day after. If you can hold out a week, you will soon find it all on sale.
  • While hanging out with some friends, recall some of your favorite memories and tell one another how much you value their friendship. This Valentine’s Day can be as special as you want it to be.
