Bill would create KU-WSU men’s basketball series

? A Wichita legislator would like to see Kansas University play Wichita State in men’s basketball, so he has filed a bill that would do just that.

State Rep. Todd Novascone, a Republican, said he doubts the measure will pass, but added that he wanted to generate talk about the possibility of a two-game series between the teams with one game in Wichita and one in Lawrence.

The teams have not played each other since the early 1990s.

Novascone said he got the idea for the proposal while watching KU play Nevada on televison earlier in the season and thinking a KU-WSU matchup would produce a lot of fan excitement.
