Scary thought
To the editor:
If the Kansas Legislature passes a concealed weapons law, I naturally will arm myself, preferably with something sleek but with serious firepower. I am giving warning that I will follow George W. Bush’s doctrine of pre-emptive attack. I may exercise the right to blow away anyone who represents a possible, though not necessarily imminent, threat to my family or me. These possible targets would not have to be armed or even own a weapon; my belief that they might sometime obtain a weapon would be sufficient cause for action.
I will admit that innocent people could become casualties in the process. This is just the cost of my freedom of mind — no apologies needed. I call on our legislators to give me the chance to rid the world of more bad people. “Bring them on!” says I.
