Mary S. McAuliffe

? Services for Mary S. McAuliffe, 96, Princeton, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Princeton United Methodist Church. Burial will be in St. Johns Cemetery in Homewood.

Mrs. McAuliffe died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, at Richmond Care Center.

She was born May 18, 1907, in Lincoln County, Minn., the daughter of Albert Martin and Alice (Holloway) Spencer. She moved to Emporia, where she attended Lyon County Grade School and then graduated from Emporia High School in 1924. She attended Emporia State College and Platt Business College in St. Joseph, Mo.

Mrs. McAuliffe worked a secretarial job, then moved to Princeton and worked on the farm. She began working in 1955 at the Princeton School, where she worked for 10 years.

Mrs. McAuliffe moved to Richmond Care Center in 2000.

Mrs. McAuliffe was a member of the Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women of Princeton and was a charter member of the Princeton EHU chapter.

She married Joseph Patrick McAuliffe on May 31, 1931, in Emporia. He died earlier.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ann Oswald, Kansas City, Mo., and Marjorie Jackson, Cedar Point; a sister, Alice Sheffield, four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home in Ottawa.
