? Services for Marie Doris Fleer Eberhart Sass, 75, Lima, Ohio, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Worden United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Worden Cemetery in Worden.

Mrs. Sass died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004, at Lima Memorial Hospital in Lima, Ohio.

She was born Aug. 21, 1928, in Worden, the daughter of Lucas Benjamin Fleer and Edna V. Steward. She graduated from Baldwin High School and attended Emporia State Teacher’s College.

She taught school in a small Kansas town. In 1951, she moved to Lima.

Mrs. Sass volunteered for the Toledo Zoological Society, Alanon and St. Rita’s Medical Center. She was a den mother for Cub Scout Pack 82. She also served as a census worker and a poll worker for many years.

Mrs. Sass was a member of Lima Community Church of the Nazarene and Lima Friends of the Library.

She married Noah Everett Eberhart in 1947. They later divorced. She married George “Bud” Sass in Toledo, Ohio. He died in 1992.

Survivors include her first husband, Baldwin; three sons, Bruce Eberhart of Lima, Ohio, and David Eberhart of Kennett Square, Penn., and Michael Eberhart of Plano, Texas; a daughter, Jan Rudolph, Lima, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where family will receive them from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday.

The family suggests memorials to Worden United Methodist Church, sent in care of the funeral home.
