Schwegler School

Schwegler School, constructed in 1957, is located a few blocks south and west of Kansas University’s main campus.

Besides being close to campus in central Lawrence, the school, at 2201 Ousdahl Rd., also has another tie to KU — its name.

The school was named in honor of Raymond A. Schwegler, the former dean of KU’s School of Education.

In November 2004, the school was the fourth largest elementary school in the city, with an enrollment of 404 students.
