Betty Arbell Kroeger

A celebration of life service for Betty Arbell Kroeger, 79, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Lawrence Funeral Chapel. Her body was donated to Kansas University for medical research.

She died Friday, Dec. 24, 2004, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born on April 2, 1925, in Ottawa, the daughter of John Oliver and Geneva G. Sink Moberly. She grew up in Ottawa and her family later moved to Topeka, where she graduated from Topeka High School in 1943.

After graduation, Mrs. Kroeger moved to Tucson, Ariz., where she worked several jobs and became a legal secretary. She returned to Topeka in 1969 and worked as a legal secretary until retiring in 1984. She moved to Lawrence in 2002 and lived at The Windsor of Lawrence.

Survivors include a son, Ken Kroeger Jr., Tucson; a daughter, Cyndy Glogau, Lawrence; two brothers, John Moberly, Pittsburgh, and Lesley Moberly, Indiana; two sisters, Mary Lamont, Kansas City, Kan., and Adeline Towle, Topeka; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

An infant son and daughter died earlier.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Palliative Care section of LMH, sent in care of the funeral home.
