Plaster found guilty in car-jacking trial

A jury has found a Tonganoxie man guilty of a car jacking in the parking garage of an all-female Kansas University residence hall.

Jurors deliberated about an hour this afternoon before convicting Jesse A. Plaster, 23, of aggravated robbery and fleeing to elude police, both felonies. He was charged with approaching a Kansas University freshman on Sept. 27 in the Gertrude Sellards Pearson/Corbin parking garage and demanding her keys at gunpoint.

He later led police on a high-speed chase that ended when he drove the car into a dead end near 12th and Indiana Streets.

He’ll be sentenced Feb. 4.
