Marine Corps Pfc. Allen Schelert recently graduated from the Ammunition Technician Specialist Course while assigned to Marine Corps Detachment Redstone Arsenal in Alabama.

During the course, Schelert was instructed on the basics of automated accountability, receipt, storage, issue, handling and inventory of ammunition.

Schelert is a 2000 graduate of Basehor-Linwood High School. He joined the Marine Corps in May 2004. He is the son of Reta and Keith Schelert, Linwood.

Army Reserve Pvt. David M. Kopp has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.

During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching and rifle marksmanship.

He is the son of Anna Kopp, Perry. He is a 2004 graduate of Perry-Lecompton High School.

Army Pvt. Elizabeth A. Eveland has graduated from the light-wheeled vehicle mechanic advanced individual training course at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.

The course is designed to train soldiers to perform maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair wheeled vehicles and related mechanical components.

She is the daughter of Nancy Eveland and Gary Eveland, both of Tonganoxie. Her grandmother is Maxine Eveland, McLouth. Eveland is a 2003 graduate of Tonganoxie High School.
