Dobbins Age-Group Champ: Kent Dobbins of Lawrence won the ages 60-64 division of the White Rock Marathon Sunday in Dallas with a clocking of 3:36:08.6. Dobbins, 60, won by nearly 21/2 minutes in a 61-runner field.

Tulsa Titlist: Paul Heitzman of Eudora won the ages 70-74 division of the Jingle Bell 5K Saturday in Tulsa, Okla., in a time of 22:50.

City Deadline: Registration deadline for entering teams in city volleyball and basketball leagues is Friday. Fees and rosters must be turned in by 5 p.m. at the Community Building. Leagues will begin the week of Jan. 16. For information, call 832-7920.

Wellsville Pack the House: Wellsville High will stage a Pack the House promotion Jan. 7 when the Eagles play host to Paola in basketball. All Wellsville residents will be admitted free.

Bays Takes Two: Abby Bays of Lawrence Gymnastics Academy earned gold medals in vault and floor exercise, and teammate Drew Davis also won in floor ex in the Level 6 portion of the LGA Winter Cup last weekend. LGA’s Jacqueline Zaitz earned two second places and Mariah Anstaet one. In all-around, Davis earned a second place, Zaitz and Bays fourth places and Anstaet a fifth place.

Powell Hole-in-One: Roger Powell used a 7-wood to ace the 175-yard No. 8 hole Sunday at Eagle Bend Golf Course. Witnesses were Bascom Batliff and Matt Durham.

McGarity Third: Brendan McGarity of Kansas School of Gymnastics finished third in the Level 7 all-around at the St. Nick Classic Sunday in Olathe. KSG’s Worth Singles-Smith was fifth at Level 5 and Noel Fisher seventh at Level 6.

Aquahawk Shines: Emma Reaney of the Lawrence Aquahawks won all eight events she entered at the Midwest Level I swim championships last weekend in Topeka and earned the ages 11-12 girls high-point award. Teammate Morgan Flannigan won two races and posted three third places. Ben Sloan earned three second-places and Zach Andregg two. Other silver medalists were Chris Sellon, Molly Albrecht, Heather Clark, Chloe Portela and Mitch Moore. Caitlin Gallagher finished third in two events. Other bronze medalists were Ashley Robinson, Alex Boyer, Andregg and Clark.
