Becky DePriest

Ms. DePriest died Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, at her home.

She was born July 12, 1955, in Ottawa, the daughter of Othal Lee and Ruth Marie Peugh DePriest. She graduated from Ottawa High School in 1973. She moved from Ottawa to Emporia, then to Sacramento, Calif., in 1985. She returned to Ottawa in 1993.

Ms. DePriest worked for 10 years in the service department at Ottawa Ford in the 1990s and early 2000s and in the warranty department at Laird Noller Ford in Lawrence from 2003 to 2004. She attended Cherry Street Wesleyan Church.

Survivors include her companion of 10 years, Bill Callaghan; two daughters, Abbi Watts, Olathe, and Sarah Callaghan, Los Angeles; two sons, Brett Callaghan and Curt Callaghan, both of Ottawa; five brothers, Ronald DePriest and Phillip DePriest, both of Ottawa, Gary DePriest, Topeka, David DePriest, Muskogee, Okla., and Harold DePriest, Highland Village, Texas; a sister, Martha Dodd, Ottawa; and two grandchildren.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Dengel and Son Mortuary in Ottawa, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.

The family suggests memorials to the Becky DePriest Memorial Fund, sent in care of the mortuary, 235 S. Hickory St., Ottawa 66067.
