Kansas adds linebacker

Eric Washington, a 6-foot-2, 220-pound linebacker from Minnesota West Community College, orally has committed to Kansas University’s football program.

KU defensive end Charlton Keith also played at Minnesota West CC.

“I really liked the chemistry of the players,” Washington, a second-team junior college All-American and Region Eight defensive player of the year, told Jon Kirby of rivals.com. “Their program is going to be noticed in the upcoming years. I just can’t wait to be a part of it.”

Washington, who visited KU last weekend, recorded 159 tackles last year, including 14 sacks and 42 tackles for a loss.

He will enroll at KU in time for spring practices.
