FULTON, MO. Westminster College's women's basketball team defeated Haskell Indian Nations University, 70-67, in overtime on Saturday night.
Haskell led 33-30 at halftime and the game was tied at 60 at the end of regulation.
Samantha Pete scored a game-high 22 points. Cita Yesslith scored 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds, while Maria Stevens scored 12 points with eight rebounds.
"Tonight we played well for being on the road," coach Phil Homeratha said. "They were pretty big inside. We got in foul trouble toward the end. I'd rather have the wins, but we're playing pretty well for the young team we're starting right now."
Haskell (2-6) will travel Monday to University of Saint Mary.
