Seahawk boys roll

? The Seabury Academy boys basketball team defeated Williamsburg for the first time in program history, 47-42, Friday in the second round of the Burlingame Tournament.

“They traditionally have a very strong 1A team with a great coach,” Seabury coach Marcus Heckman said. “It’s a good moment for us.”

The Seahawks quickly rid themselves of a season-opening loss to Kansas School for the Deaf on Thursday, behind 14 points from Grayson Dillon. Three other players — Scott King, Paul Bireta and Gary Gardner — scored at least eight.

Seabury (1-1) will finish up play in the tournament with a game against host Burlingame at 10:30 a.m.

Burlingame — After hanging tough for the first half, the Seabury girls basketball team tired in the second half. Laura Frizell led the Seahawks with 19 points. Seabury (1-1) will play at 9 a.m. today against Burlingame.
