The bride-to-be is a graduate of Lawrence High School and Indiana University. She is the director of fashion and entertainment at Full Picture Public Relations in Los Angeles.

The future groom is a graduate of Glenbrook North High School and Indiana University. He is a finishing producer at Craig Murray Productions in Los Angeles.

The couple plan an Aug. 21, 2005, wedding at The Fairmont in Kansas City.

Miller-Hutchison

Jim and Sandy Miller, Lawrence, and Teresa Mock, Vinland, announce the engagement of their daughter Jen Miller, Lawrence, to Adam Hutchison, Overland Park, son of Bill and Vicki Schoeb, Overland Park, and Kent and Kristi Hutchison, Oregon, Wis.

The bride-to-be is a 2001 graduate of Free State High School. She plans to graduate in May 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Kansas University. She then plans to work for Payless ShoeSource in Topeka as a merchandise distribution analyst.

Adam Hutchison and Jen Miller

The future groom is a 1998 graduate of Shawnee Mission South High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from KU in December 2002. He works in lending at First State Bank & Trust in Lawrence.

The couple plan a July 2, 2005, wedding in Lawrence.

Bonnema-Welch

Greg and Marla Welch, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their son Joel Welch, Springfield, N.J., to Cara Bonnema, Iowa City, Iowa, daughter of Lane and Edie Bonnema, Sioux Falls, S.D.

The bride-to-be is a 2002 graduate of Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa. She plans to receive a master’s degree in chemistry in 2005 from the University of Iowa.

The future groom is a 1999 graduate of Kansas University. He received a doctorate in chemistry from the University of Iowa in 2004. He is a senior research scientist at Schering-Plough Research Institute in Kenilworth, N.J.
