Maxine Rogers

? Graveside services for Maxine Rogers, 86, Baldwin, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Baldwin.

Mrs. Rogers died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born Jan. 30, 1921, in Carson City, Iowa, the daughter of Cliff and Vreata Hill Durbin. She attended Prescott High School before graduating from Fulton High School. She attended Washburn University in Topeka.

Mrs. Rogers was city clerk of Baldwin for several years before moving to Topeka. She volunteered at Kansas Veterans Hospital and worked at the Kansas House of Representatives. She attended Girls State, which is sponsored by American Legion Auxiliary, for many years and served as assistant counselor, counselor, director of the senate and house mother. She was a charter member of Hestia Study Club of Baldwin and a member of American Legion Auxiliary since 1952. She also was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church of Baldwin.

She married Floyd Rogers on Nov. 18, 1939, in Fulton. He died June 26, 1995.

Survivors include a daughter, Dona Rogers, Ledyard, Conn.; a son, Dan Rogers, Rogers, Ark.; seven grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
