Helen Dorothea Bialek

Mrs. Bialek died Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, at Eudora Nursing Center.

She was born May, 5, 1918, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Pete and Kathrine Bink Ferstl.

Mrs. Bialek worked in Food and Beverage Service at Muehlebach Hotel and Phillips Hotel in Kansas City, Mo. She held administrative positions for Mutual Benefit Life Insurance until she retired at age 65.

She married Stanley J. Bialek on Nov. 23, 1938, in Kansas City, Kan. He died in 1974.

A son, Thomas J. Bialek, died in 1979.

Survivors include four sons, John S. Bialek, Lawrence, Laurence E. Bialek, Paola, Bernard P. Bialek, Leawood, and Richard A. Bialek, Overland Park; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church.

The family suggests memorials to Hospice Care in Douglas County, 200 Maine, Suite D, Lawrence 66044 or to the church.
