Baker back tapped

? Tailback John Reeves was Baker University’s lone representative on the All-Heart of America Athletic Conference football team chosen by league coaches.

Reeves, a senior from Palestine, Texas, finished third in conference rushing stats with 1,173 yards after being slowed early in the season because of a hamstring injury.

The 5-foot-11, 215-pounder, who transferred to BU from New Mexico Military Institute prior to the 2003 season, gained 2,723 yards during his two-year career with the Wildcats and scored 23 touchdowns.

League coaches did not name a second team or select players for honorable mention. Baker compiled a 4-6 record in Mike Grossner’s first year as head coach.
