George Otto Luckan

Services for George Otto Luckan, 79, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Luckan died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2004, at University of Kansas Hospital, Kansas City, Kan.

He was born March 19, 1925, in Tonganoxie, the son of Otto Emil and Bertha May Shaffer Luckan. He graduated in 1942 from Liberty Memorial High School in Lawrence.

Mr. Luckan worked as a farmer in Douglas County. He was a member of Eagles Lodge 309 in Lawrence and of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was also a 4-H member and leader.

He married Mildred M. Kratochvil on Dec. 19, 1959, in Topeka. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sisters, Freida J. Martin, Baldwin, and Charlene Winter, Lecompton.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where the family will receive them from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The family suggests memorials to Douglas County Visiting Nurses Assn. or Trinity Lutheran Church, sent in care of the funeral home.
