Validation
To the editor:
It was delightful to open the Aug. 10 Journal-World to read a front page story that Rush Limbaugh was upset about John and Elizabeth Edwards returning to Lawrence for a political rally on Sunday. That event brought national attention to Lawrence.
We can take as validation that Lawrence is a rational, progressive and fair-minded community whenever we can draw the ire of someone like Limbaugh. Now we can only wait to see if Cal Thomas, Bill O’Reilly or Sean Hannity will react in a similar manner. It will be disappointing if they don’t.
