Ronald Earl Sims

Mr. Sims died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 29, 1937, in Ottawa, the son of Bernard “Sandy” and Pauline Sims. He was raised in Richmond.

Mr. Sims graduated with a business degree from Kansas State University in 1959. He was an agricultural chemicals salesman for Ciba-Geigy and then Van Diest Supply Co., where he worked for 33 years. He owned Vassar Elevator Co. and farmed. His land in Edgerton won the 2000 Kansas Banker’s Soil Conservation Award.

He married Rosalie Jockman on Nov. 11, 1961, in Scipio. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Travis, Fort Worth, Texas; a daughter, Sherry Sims Jetmore, Lenexa; and three grandchildren.
