Investigators still searching for cause of Park 25 blaze

The search continues for a cause in a fire at a south Lawrence apartment complex that caused an estimated $210,000 loss.
Fire Marshall Rich Barr says investigators are continuing interviews in hopes of pinpointing the cause of the blaze that began about 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at the Park 25 Apartments.

Flames were initially reported in a maintenance building — and quickly spread to an adjacent apartment — where at least four units were damaged.

No injuries are reported, but five firefighters were taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital with heat exhaustion. All were treated and released.
