Glass returning to lanes

Lawrence’s Bob Glass will resume pursuit of his record-tying third PBA Senior Tour player-of-the-year title today.

After more than a two-month break, the second half of the PBA Senior Tour will start again with the Don Carter Classic in Davie, Fla.

Glass, the Tour’s player of the year in 2001 and 2002, is the leading money winner with $27,250 after the six stops last spring. Glass won two of those meets — the Epicenter Classic in Klamath Falls, Ore., and the Chillicothe (Ohio) Open.

Practice and pro-am sessions at the Carter Classic will begin today, with qualifying rounds scheduled for Monday and Tuesday. The match-play finals will be Wednesday.

Glass has been playing on the PBA Midwest Regional circuit for the last two months. He stands fourth in money winnings on that tour with $5,100.
