Edith May Baldwin
Graveside services for Edith May Baldwin, 88, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Baldwin died Tuesday, April 27, 2004, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born March 20, 1916, in Richmond, Mo., the daughter of John and Erna Lana Humbard. She had lived in Lawrence since 1948.
Mrs. Baldwin worked in food service at Lawrence High School and Kansas University. She had worked at Sunflower Army Ordnance Plant in the early 1950s and 1960s.
She was a member of First Christian Church.
She married Kenneth R. Baldwin on July 31, 1937, in Richmond. He died April 10, 1991.
A grandson also died earlier.
Survivors include two sons, John Baldwin and Kenny Baldwin, both of Lawrence; a brother, Paul Humbard, Richmond; four sisters, Bernice Owens, Excelsior Springs, Mo., Mary Harrington, Kansas City, Mo., Jaunita Barger, Rayville, Mo., and Anna Gillespie, Liberty, Mo.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
The family suggests memorials to Boy Scouts of America Troop 53, sent in care of the mortuary.
