Arliene R. Shore

Services for Arliene R. Shore, 82, Lawrence, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Edwardsville Cemetery.

Mrs. Shore died Monday, April 26, 2004, at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor.

She was born Jan. 27, 1922, in Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of S. R. and Marie Kluss Reynolds. She graduated from Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, Kan., where she played first chair violin in the orchestra. She attended McPherson College and Emporia State University.

Mrs. Shore was a member of First Presbyterian Church and longtime member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She was past president of Fidelity White Shrine No. 11 in Lawrence and helped conduct AARP 55 & Alive sessions. She had formerly belonged to Ding-a-lings camping organization and the Jayhawk Camping Club. She was a homemaker, an Avon representative and former part owner of Meseraull Printing.

She married Benjamin E. Shore on April 25, 1943, in Kansas City, Kan. He survives, of the home.

Other survivors include three sons, Randall E. Shore, Woodbridge, Va., Kent H. Shore, Clermont, Fla., and Scott R. Shore, Gardner; two brothers, Donald R. Reynolds and Karl W. Reynolds, both of Lawrence; a sister, Wilma R. Meseraull, Lawrence; and five grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

The family suggests memorials to the Dorothy & Walter Ross Memorial Scholarship Fund at Beta Sigma Phi sorority, sent in care of the mortuary.
