Ralph W. Schrant

? Services for Ralph W. Schrant, 80, Hays, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Hays. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Fidelis Cemetery in Victoria.

Mr. Schrant died Friday, April 23, 2004, at Hays Medical Center.

He was born April 14, 1924, in Walker, the son of Henry and Katherine Etzel Schrant.

Mr. Schrant retired after being a brakeman, then a conductor, for Cotton Belt Railway, formerly Rock Island railroad.

He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, where he served as an usher for many years, Knights of Columbus Council No. 6984 and Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.

He married Agnes Mae Sander on June 9, 1951, in Victoria. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Linda M. Schrant Schnose, Lawrence, and Cynthia M. Schrant, Hays; a brother, Norbert, Duncan, Okla.; two sisters, Sister Marcella Schrant, Lawrence, and Virginia Schrant, Osawatomie; and two grandchildren.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, where a Victoria Daughters of Isabella rosary will be at 6 p.m., followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary at 6:30 and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m.

The family suggests memorials to the church or for Masses, sent in care of the funeral home, 20th and Pine streets, Hays 67601.
