Norman, Okla. — Oklahoma scored nine unearned runs en route to a 10-1, five-inning victory over Kansas University on Saturday at OU Softball Complex.
Leading 3-0 in the bottom of the second inning, the Sooners (34-16-1 overall, 8-6 Big 12 Conference) put the game away with six more runs on two hits and three KU errors, including two by Jayhawk shortstop Destiny Frankenstein.
Kara Pierce (15-11) allowed six hits but no earned runs in 12/3 innings. Serena Settlemier relieved and allowed just one more hit.
The Jayhawks (27-24-1, 3-9) conclude the two-game series with Oklahoma at 1 p.m. today.
