Fishing report

CLINTON LAKE (updated 4-22) — Water 57 degrees and .8 feet above normal pool. Channel catfish good using worms and minnows in Wakarusa arm. Crappie good all over the lake. Fish have been moved close to shore. Most being taken on jigs.

PERRY LAKE (updated 4-14) — Water 57 degrees and .4 feet below normal pool. White bass good on rip-rap with twisters or jigs. Channel catfish fair on cut bait or shad sides in shallows, and worms where water is running in. Sauger fair. White crappie fair.

DOUGLAS STATE LAKE (updated 4-22) — Water 60 degrees and clear. Bluegill good near shore. They’re biting readily on nightcrawlers, small jigs. Crappie fair. Fish are in shallow water near shore in evenings, but go deeper during day. Live minnows, small jigs work best. Carp good on nightcrawlers. Channel catfish fair on shad sides, nightcrawlers.

LEAVENWORTH STATE LAKE (updated 4-22) — Channel catfish fair on shad sides and guts. Crappie good on jigs and minnows lakewide along shore. Largemouth bass fair using plastic worms and crankbaits. Wiper poor. Some being caught using chicken livers on bottom.

LONE STAR LAKE (updated 4-22) — Largemouth bass fair using slow-working crankbaits. Some being taken on plastics. Channel catfish fair on shad, cut bait. Crappie good on minnows and jigs lakewide along shore.
