Thornton-Van Meter
Sarah Thornton and Jay Van Meter were married April 10, 2004, at the Unity Church of Lawrence with the Rev. Donald Parker officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Joshua VanDuskirk, Kalispell, Mont., and Lisa Thornton, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Jay W. Van Meter, Oskaloosa, and Debra Mood, Savannah, Tenn.
Matron of honor was Teah Van Meter. Best man was Jamie Van Meter. Bridesmaids were Kayla Watts, Kyann Ward and Tanya Ward. Groomsmen were Josh Pritchard, Chad Ward and Carl Ward. The couple’s daughters Hannah Van Meter, Cierra Richeson and Abbigail Richeson were flower girls. The miniature bride and groom were their daughter Makenzie Thornton, and nephew Dakota Bledsoe.
The couple reside in Lawrence.
Meseraull-Hamel
Patty Meseraull and Fletcher Hamel were married June 14, 2003, at Christ Community Church in Lawrence with the Rev. Bill Hurlbutt officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Steve and Helen Meseraull, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Richard and Nancy Hamel, Lawrence. Grandparents are Wilma Meseraull and Jean Hamel. Honorary grandparents are Ben and Arliene Shore.
Matron of honor was Shelly Stumpe. Best man was Colin Hamel. Bridesmaids were Kellie Lankford, Kelly Gosa, Jami Perona and Clarisa Diaz. Groomsmen were Evan Grosshans, Malcolm Loh, Doug Meseraull and Ryan Mattson. Flower girl was Ellen Gilmore, and ring bearer was Nathan Gilmore. Candle lighters were Kim Meseraull and Louis Hamel. Musicians were Darrel Cox, Johanna Cox, Josh Abel, Julie Mealiff and Nicole Walker. Prayer was given by Pastor Bill Kimbel, and scripture was read by Paul Mattson. Guest book attendant was Stephanie Strycker. Wedding coordinator was Karen Meseraull.
The dinner and dance reception was at Steve’s Place in Lawrence. Cake servers were Ashley Young, Ellen Shackleford, Laura Willms and Nathalie Fahey. Gift attendant was Lara Kantack.
The bride and groom are pursuing degrees at Kansas University.
The couple reside in Lawrence.
Ryan-Scully
Lorie A. Ryan and Charles R. Scully, Thomasville, Ga., were married April 10, 2004, at the Thomasville Rose Garden in Thomasville, Ga., with Judge Vickie Burnette officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Vivian A. Ryan, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Charles L. Scully, Tallahassee, Fla., and Patsy Scully, Thomasville, Ga.
Matron of honor was Karen Truitt. Best man was Steven Truitt. The bride was given away by her mother.
A reception took place at Cherokee Lake in Thomasville, Ga.
The bride is a 1987 graduate of Lawrence High School. The groom is a 1989 graduate of Thomasville High School. They both work at Captain D’s in Thomasville, Ga.
