Ricks sparkles in All-Star game

Lawrence High senior Cherrale Ricks scored 12 points and grabbed five rebounds in the Northeastern Kansas All-Star Game on Sunday at Highland Community College.

McLouth’s Emma Prochaska also participated, scoring two points. The gold beat the blue, Ricks’ and Prochaska’s team, 66-57.

On the boys side, Perry-Lecompton’s Spencer Kennedy scored 12 points for the gold team, but it wasn’t enough as blue rolled, 91-69.

Oskaloosa’s Jake Heston and McLouth’s Matt Scanlon also played for gold. Ottawa’s Clint Bones scored six points for the blue team.

Golf Demo Day slated Saturday at Eagle Bend

Golf USA will hold Golf Demo Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Eagle Bend Golf Course. Factory representatives will have all current golf clubs available to use and test on the driving range. For information, call Golf USA at 832-9009.
