Kirchhoff services
Services for Dorothy Elisabeth Kirchhoff, 91, Lawrence, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Kirchhoff died Tuesday, April 20, 2004, at her home.
She was born Feb. 2, 1913, in Chicago, the daughter of Henry C. and Caroline Sophie Krog Oldenburg. She graduated from Suburban Academy and attended Arthur Jordan Conservatory in Indianapolis and Harper College in Chicago. She moved from Illinois to Lawrence in 1997.
Mrs. Kirchhoff was an educational consultant for Harr Wagner Publishing Co. and American Guidance Services near Chicago for about 20 years. She was a member of the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod. She was past president of the English District Chicago Chapter of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and of the Auxiliary of the Lutheran Home and Services in Arlington Heights, Ill. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Lawrence.
She married Edwin L. Kirchhoff on July 8, 1933, in Forest Park, Ill. He died Oct. 6, 1998.
Survivors include two daughters, Constance Marks, Lewisville, Texas, and Maribeth Crawford, Lawrence; a sister, Lorraine Barsema, Mesa, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
The family suggests memorials to Lutheran World Missions, Lutheran World Relief, the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, Lutheran Bible Translators or Hospice Care in Douglas County, sent in care of the mortuary.
