Dan Elliott Wilson Sr.

? Services for Dan Elliott Wilson Sr., 78, Oskaloosa, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Barnett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Oskaloosa.

Mr. Wilson died Monday, April 19, 2004, at Jefferson County Geriatrics Center in Winchester.

He was born Sept. 24, 1925, in Selma, Ala., the son of William “Butch” and Mattie Sue Davis Wilson. He graduated from Selma High School in 1942. He lived in several places in the Midwest and southeastern United States. He moved from Brunswick, Mo., to Oskaloosa in 1993.

Mr. Wilson was a salesman and heavy-equipment operator in land and housing developments in Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, Florida and Tennessee. He worked on the development of Ozawkie and the surrounding area during the construction of Lake Perry. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

He married Christine Suttles. They divorced. He married Irma Satterwhite. They also divorced.

Survivors include a son, Dan E. Jr., Mountain Home, Ark.; a daughter, Linda Reiling, Oskaloosa; a brother, Ben Wilson, Tampa, Fla.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A granddaughter died June 6, 1993.

Family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
