Charles T. Riley

Mr. Riley died Monday, April 19, 2004, at Wellsville Manor Nursing Home.

He was born July 17, 1922, in Dallas, the son of Emmanuel and Ruby Ann Stubblefield Riley. He grew up in the Kansas City, Kan., area before moving with his family to Linwood, where he graduated from Linwood High School. He also lived in Bonner Springs before moving to the Worden area in 1963.

Mr. Riley served in the Army during World War II and attained the rank of sergeant. He was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, Philippine Independence Ribbon and World War II Victory Medal.

He was a farmer and dairyman. He ran a milk route for a few years and drove a school bus for the Baldwin school district for several years.

He married Barbara Burke on March 6, 1952, in Linwood. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include three sons, John, Linwood, Mike, Baldwin, and Bill, Lawrence; and four grandchildren.

Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home in Baldwin.
