Betty Jean Thomas

? Services for Betty Jean Thomas, 80, Meriden, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Jefferson Assembly of God Church in Meriden. Burial will be in Meriden Cemetery.

Mrs. Thomas died Monday, April 19, 2004, at Deer Park Residential Care Center in Meriden.

She was born Nov. 23, 1923, in Oneida, the daughter of Chester Arthur and Laura Conwell Funk. She graduated from Oneida High School. She lived in McLouth for many years before moving to Meriden in 2002.

Mrs. Thomas was a homemaker and had worked as a seamstress for a funeral garment company.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of McLouth and Extension Home Unit, of McLouth.

She married W.L. “Dub” Thomas on Sept. 17, 1951, in Kansas City, Mo. He died Jan. 22, 2004.

A grandson, Patrick Daniel Thomas, also died earlier.

Survivors include a son, Kevin M. Thomas, Spring Lake, N.C.; a daughter, Marla T. Rice, Meriden; three brothers, Frank Funk, Kansas City, Mo., Howard Funk and Harold Funk, both of Marysville; two sisters, Katherine Funk and Alice VanNortwick, both of Marysville; and six grandchildren.

Family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Barnett’s Meriden Funeral Chapel.
