Design guidelines attempt unique look
Guidelines that would govern the look of new stores in Lawrence were unveiled this morning during a meeting at city hall.
The design guidelines are being drafted by the Lawrence-Douglas County Planning Commission to ensure that new commercial developments have a look unique to Lawrence — instead of looking like their counterparts in cities across the United States.
A committee is still reviewing and revamping the guidelines.
Members meet next on May 4.
