The Vinland Family Community Education Unit will meet at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the home of Mary Lou Brown.

Elizabeth Hemphill will give the lesson, “What Do Corn and Carpet Have In Common?”

  • The Douglas County Family and Community Education Council will sponsor its annual spring tea at 1 p.m. Friday in Building 21 North at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds.

The program will be stories titled “The Way We Were” by Danny and Becky McMillen. The program is free and open to the public.

  • The Douglas County 4-H ambassadors attended State 4-H Ambassador Training March 26-27 at Rock Springs 4-H Center near Junction City.

The ambassadors learned how to promote 4-H, develop communication skills and organize promotional events and activities. Ambassadors who attended were Erin Ashcraft, Haven Bouton, Michelle Colgan, Callie Fishburn, Reagon Heikes and Margaret Pendleton, Lawrence; Samantha Box, Ashley Moran, Eudora; Leah Hoelscher, and Cybill Milburn, Baldwin.

Ambassador advisers who attended were Sue Ashcraft and Karen Pendleton, both of Lawrence. Kimbreley Davis, Lawrence, 4-H Youth Development agent, also attended.
