Rodney Jones, director of ticket operations at Kansas University for the past 16 months, has been named assistant athletic director in charge of the Williams Fund as part of a reorganization announced Wednesday by athletic director Lew Perkins.

Jones, 35, replaces Jay Hinrichs, who becomes associate AD for facilities planning. Charlette Stuart, formerly assistant ticket manager at Oklahoma, takes over as interim director of ticket operations.

Hinrichs will oversee the renovations of Allen Fieldhouse and the construction of a Hall of Fame made possible by $12 million in donations.

Jones, Perkins said, “has built outstanding relationships with many of our key donors. That, combined with his knowledge of the ticket operation, will assist us immeasurably as we implement the new points system over the next several months.”

Perkins announced soon after taking over in July he would reconfigure the seating in Allen Fieldhouse for men’s basketball games based on points awarded for donations and other criteria.
