  • An essay by Leanne Milleret, a sixth-grader at Woodlawn School, has won first place in the Ottawa Elks Lodge contest and Kansas Elks contest. Her essay on “Why I am Proud to Say the Pledge of Allegiance” will be entered in the national contest.

  • Lawrence resident Debbie Ellebracht, of the Omicron Chapter of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, attended the annual Phi State Convention March 26-28 in Wichita. During the convention, Ellebracht received the First-Time Convention/Conference Award.
